The Modi government has approved a proposal for reservation of 10 percent in government jobs and education for poor sections of the common people while going ahead with the big bets before the Lok Sabha elections. This proposal was passed in the Central Cabinet meeting on Monday.
The central government will increase reservation quota to implement this new form of reservation. Explain that there is no system of reservation on economic basis in the Indian Constitution. In such a way, constitutional amendment is the only way for the government to implement the movement of a game changer. According to the new formula for reservation, reservation quota will be increased from existing 49.5 percent to 59.5 percent. Out of this, 10 percent quota will be for economically backward people. Explain that for a long time financially backward class was demanding reservation.
If the conditions of reservation are in the media report, then those whose family income is less than 8 lakh rupees annually will get the benefit. Simultaneously, there are reports of the condition of having less than 1000 sq ft of houses and less than 5 acres of agricultural land.
Lok Sabha elections will get advantage?
Let us know that in the wake of the Modi government’s decision on the SC / ST Act in the last few days, in the wake of displeasure in the upper castes and the defeat of the three states in the recent assembly elections, it can be seen as an attempt to bring the upper castes to its fold.
The biggest question
The central government has passed a proposal of 10 per cent quota for the economically backward class, but it is very difficult to implement it. The government has to amend the constitution for this. For this, it will also need support from other parties in the Parliament. Congress, NCP and Aam Aadmi Party have supported it as soon as the proposal is approved by the cabinet.
