CAG report raises several questions on Delhi’s rationing system. It has been revealed that there are also National Food Security (NFS) card holders, who hold licenses for ration shops and many such families, who have the capacity to retain jobs. It has been said in the report that scooter, bus, auto and bike used to transport grains from Indian Food Corporation’s warehouses to ration shops.
However, the CAG did not consider this report to be rational. It has been said in the report that the department should investigate the case. After the report was revealed, CM Arvind Kejriwal said that LG has rejoined the roster of the doorstep delivery proposal. According to sources, the Delhi government has decided to hand over 50 cases related to the report to the CBI investigation. Attempts are being made to save the ration victims. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said in the House that it clearly shows where the ration is reaching.
In its report, the Ration Card made without verification is said in the report that the NFS card holders did not get verification. In addition to verification of the Aadhaar card holders of other states, they also made their cards in Delhi. This was done only on declaration of applicants.
During the period April 2013 to March 2017, the CAG examined 3.10 lakh ration cards of 7 out of 70 circles. The Food Department replied that the food supply inspector went to the address given by the applicants. 100 percent verification was not possible. The CAG did not consider this reply to the department as satisfactory. Said that the department did not even examine whether a family with the capacity to retain a servant can be allowed to take advantage of the Ration Scheme.
