Patanjali Ayurved Ltd of Baba Ramdev has dragged the company of a yoga guru to the court for allegedly violating Patanjali’s trademark. Patanjali says that the unit of Maharishi Patanjali family is selling Kalpamrita Ayurveda Limited Aloe vera juice, shampoo, toothpaste and other FMCG products with such packaging which is similar to Patanjali’s products.
Kalpamrut Ayurveda leads the yoga guru Swami Karamveer. Swami Karamveer is the old partner of Ramdev. Ramdev, Karamveer and Acharya Balakrishna together formed the Divya Yoga Trust (now Patanjali Yogpeeth). Patanjali has alleged that Kalpamrath is selling products by replicating the packing of Patanjali’s products and that Patanjali’s credibility is getting worse. Patanjali says that this logo resembles its logo. Patanjali has also objected to the use of Maharishi Patanjali family name for the company. The next hearing on this matter will be on May 7.
